I read your article because I will soon be counted among the states many homeless. I am bright, articulate and a hard worker that takes [ride in her work, but have been unemployed for a little over a year. My biggest hurtle is that I have a criminal record. I went to prison and did my time and even made restitution. But the old saying that I paid my debt to society no longer applies. Everyone even employment agencies now do background checks and nobody is willing to give you a second chance. I more than likely will end up buying a tent and supplies with my last uinemployment check and will be looking for a place to live within that tent, hopefully near some water so I can bath regularly.
