Although violent crime rates have decreased over the past two years nationally, in New Orleans they are still going up.

The murder rate went down 28% in the first quarter this year, but increased by 18% in the second. Rape, robbery, and assault crime rates have continued to increase throughout the year.

In total, New Orleans violent crime rates have increased 23% since this time last year. Up to date crime reports can be found here.
