  The next #featurefriday is first semester student Amanda Pérez Pintado, a print journalist who has come to NYC from Puerto Rico. She spent the last year moving up from an intern to a full-time reporter at Puerto Rico’s largest newspaper @elnuevodia where she covered politics, business, science and local events. She is interested in covering social justice issues and one of her stories about the gentrification of San Juan, PR made it to the front page of her hometown newspaper. • “As a journalist, I’m interested in telling people’s stories.   Our #mondaymotivation is first semester student Sydney Fishman. She has brought her audio reporting skills to NYC from California, where she got her start interning at radio stations in Santa Cruz and the Bay Area. While most of her work has focused on immigration, including a story she produced about undocumented works at strawberry farms being exploited by companies, she also enjoys reporting on music, movies and local artists. In journalism it's important to find out stories from people you usually wouldn't hear from. I think it's important to let people know that they are being listened to and their voice matters.”
