At the site where a water line break encased cars in ice over the weekend, construction workers shoveled dirt and cement into a gaping East Village sinkhole.
Workers spent all day Tuesday repairing damages with saws, blowtorches and lots of digging.
Some residents say more needs to be done in the future to prevent things like this from happening again.
Although the sinkhole could have caused East 2nd Street to close, construction workers flagged people by as best as they could to keep traffic moving.
